Hello,

I just wanted to know for future reference. After being in the US for more than five years I am now considered a resident alien. So that being said, let's say next year I don't work and don't receive any income.

1. Am I still required to file a 1040 even if I don't receive any income. Do I have to file anything?
2. If my parents are supporting me and sending me money from overseas is that considered taxable income?

Thank you so much, I really appreciate any answers.

You file only if your income is more than the filing requirements.
