View Full Version : 95 Civic won't start

I have a 1995 honda civic lx 1.5 16valve sohc 5 speed I live in saco Maine and last week I was driving the car and it ran fine I parked it at my house and pulled a couple of plugs to check them for the tune up I put them back in and started the car to do an errand and the motor started to hit the hood which was closed I shut the car off immedatley and waited a minute or so and tried to start it again and all it would do is crank I checked it and it had no spark I replaced the ignitor and the coil in the dizzy I also replaced the motor grounds which were coroded I have done every test I can find for my car I even jumped the service connector and all it does is make my srs light flash continuously with no pattern

I have fuel pressure
I have air but no spark
New plugs
New wires
New coil
New icm
New rotor
New cap
New battery ground
New motor ground (both)

. When the ignition switch is turned to ON (Position II), does the Check Engine Light come on for 2 seconds and then go out?

Yes it comes on for 2 seconmds then goes out checked the main relay the secondary ignition fuse and the fuses under the dash and under the hood

Most likely, then, one or more of the internal distributor sensors (CKP, CYL, or TDC) is bad. Since they are unserviceable, replace the distributor housing (genuine Honda only) and install your new ignitor and coil:

Be sure you applied a thin, even coat of silicone heat transfer compound to the back of the ignitor.

Thoes are new as well I rebuilt the entire dizzy

How did you rebuild a Honda distributor?

They sell rebuild kits for it with everything you need and its cheeper than buying a new one

Interesting. On this site we have had very few new aftermarket or professionally rebuilt Honda distributors work. It hasn't made much difference where they came from.
