I have recently come into some money - just enogh to pay my house off. With the economy in the shape it is in should I ask for a lower pay off amount... try to negotiate the payoff?

I bargained many years ago for a mortgage payoff and it worked for me.

At the time my old interest rate was way below the current rates which was the bargaining chip for the Mortgage company get the cash form my principal left and to re use that money to lend out at a higher rate to someone else.
