Ny apartment was built by hand out of a garage.. all the pluming is fine its been checked professionally but Every single time we have a shower (stand up shower) water will fill up past your toes... it will drain on its own given time or almost instantly after you rinse the shampoo into the water... the cap that goes over the drain has holes in the top of it but do you think there could be a problem with it not having holes big enough on the inside to allow water to go through... this has been happening since the first day we put the shower in.. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

Hi Michelle,

Showers clog up with matted hair mixed with grease from the soap.
That strainer will have to be remover and a snake sent down the drain.
For a quick fix try this. Tonight before bed time pour 1/2 gallon of bleach down the drain and let it set over night. Next morning,( and this is important) flush it out with two large pans of boiling water. The bleach will act on the hair and make it slippery and the boiling water will melt the grease and flush the mess away. If you want me to locate a selection of strainers on the net just ask. Good luck, Tom
