I just had a chalazion operation done on my lower eye lid, and my doctor said to avoid smoking for the next few days. I'm willing to wait 2-3 days as my doctor suggested but I'm more worried about smoking marijuana?
Will that have any impacts on the healing process if any?
(I realize drug talk is a shaky subject for some but I hope someone will enlighten me as it will be a huge help)
Thanks.

Hello nick:

I certainly don't have any medical opinion, but I've smoked it through all sorts of life's little dings, and never had a problem. So, I don't think it will hinder the healing process. It'll for sure make you less tense about it. That can't hurt.

I don't agree with drugs myself but I've heard they have quite a few medical pros like lowering the pressures inside your eyes (not ssure how medically backed that is what with it being illeagal an all that) and good for joint pain but that's all I no

Thanks for the input guys..
It'd be good if I had a few more opinions from anyone?
The thing that concerns me is that your eyes tend to get bloodshot when you're smoking, and since the operation was on my eye I'm worried it might influence it in some way.

Smoke irritates healing wounds. And eyes. So a healing wound on an eye will need to be kept from smoke, ANY smoke. If you're really that hard up for it, make sure that you're wearing an eye patch that won't let any smoke near that eye.

Hope this helped.

P.S. I used to work in a laser clinic, and have watched many many chalazion surgeries. I'd really like to hear about your experience.
