Hi,
I am student on F-1 visa. I have worked in NY and Connecticut states. During 2008, I stayed in NJ state. I would like to know which all form should I file to get credit back for the taxes which I have paid to other states (NY,CT)?
I have already filled 1040NR, IT203 (NY state return) and CT-1040,CT-SI for Connecticut returns.
I just recently came to know that NJ state give you some credit back for the taxes paid to other states within US. So in order to get those credits how do I proceed now?
Am I a resident alien of NJ ? Should I file NJ-1040 or NJ-1040NR? Since I am on F-1 visa does that 183 days rule apply to us?
Thanks!
