I am going to school to be a medical assistant and my instructor told me something that I can't bring myself to believe! She told us that every time you are put under for a surgery, you are literally dead for 90 seconds (at the most). (meaning all of your organs are shut down JUST like when you're dead, that's exactly what she said) :eek:I've had surgery once and I don't remember ANYTHING. That kind of makes me thing after we die we don't see/hear/remember anything. Well anyway I just think that's crazy!

I didn't hear, see, smell, taste, or feel anything last night while I was sleeping. Was I dead? I sure would ask that instructor at what point does a body die during surgery--when first put under or when? I've had surgery multiple times and have never heard that. The nurse teaching a parenting class that I was in years ago claimed that, in order to produce twins, there have to be two different sexual encounters--so I guess medical people aren't necessarily experts in biology.

But I just pretended I was still kn ocked out and hoped it was the drugs lol

I had dreams during my surgeries. Spinning lights and weird music and lots of colors. I don't remember seeing any angels or Jesus. I Googled for info about dying during surgery. Nothing popped up. I would have called my dr. but it's Monday and one of his busy days.

That is weird! Maybe because my surgery was a quick simple one and I wasn't in surgery for too long! I tried to Google it also and came up with nothing. From now on I'm just going to believe what I read and ignore my instructors crazy stories. Haha she also tells us that she feels bad for our generation because we're all going to die from a horrible strain of some kind of flu virus.. hmm lol maybe that's just wishful thinking

My doctor just told me by phone that that is not true. He said your heart is still beating and you are still breathing. You do not die for any length of time.

Hmmm, another evil instructor to add to my list...
Good thing all you young people are going to get such superb medical training that you will be able to conquer any deadly virus that pops up.
