Hi,

I was an F1 student in 2007. I used Turbo tax to file my 2007 tax return and not finding form 1040NR-EZ there, I filed 1040A. Reading through this forum, I have found that I should have filed 1040NR-EZ. Now I will have to make a correction and file 1040X along with corrected 1040NR-EZ.

My question is, when I filed 1040A, along with the tax refund, I also received an economic stimulus payment of $300. What will be the procedure for refunding this amount to the IRS. Should I include this in the corrected 1040NR-EZ? What income should I declare this as?

Thanks in advance,
Lavish

Return the $300 stimulus payment as a separate check.

Return the $300 stimulus payment as a separate check when you file the amended return.

Clearly mark the $300 check "Returned Economic Stimulus Payment, and put your SSN on the check.
