I am finishing my basement and I would like to reduce the amount of noise that travels between floors. We have a TV down stairs now and you can hear it very well in the office upstairs. Somebody told me that a 'rubber sheet' material used to cover flat roofs really helps a lot. Does anyone have experience with the rubber sheet and does it really work? What are some other ideas that may work?

Bascially the cheap way is fiberglass insulation.

Here is a board to help stop sound
