I'm 38 weeks pregnant and was just wondering if I can do anything that will make me go into labour? Or is it just awaiting game?

You are so much better off waiting until at least after your due date before trying anything. Even then, I would only suggest things if you were trying to avoid a medical induction... otherwise let it happen on its own. Walking, frequent intercourse, nipple stimulation, and pressure points are the most commonly suggested ideas for possibly getting things going.

The last few weeks can be rough with the waiting and being uncomfortable. Do what you can to pamper yourself, keep yourself occupied, relax now and then, spend some quiet time with your partner, family, and friends.
