Drastic drop in water pressure to the house in the last couple of days. Some white scale found on outside of coupler where the water comes in to the house. Leaks have been fixed in copper pipe recently and no sign of any more leaking at the moment. If pipes are corroded, how can they be cleaned with out having to sell the house to pay for it. Any remedy we could DYI would be great.

Low pressure in whole house or just a few fixtures? Recent work on plumbing caused scale to break loose which may have plugged sink aerators, tub/shower cartridges, toilet fill valves, etc. Please give a little more info, and we will take this one step at a time. And time is the key word. This is most likely a simple fix, it will just take some time on your part to get it all cleared up. Or you could call in the plumber that did the repair work, and he should be able to get you fixed up. (Just know that this will be chargable time). Good luck and please let us know if you would like to try to fix this yourself with our help.

Low pressure in whole house. Would like to fix this ourselves. There was a sandy build up on the screen at the washing machine cold tap, but that's it so far. Tub and shower in main bathroom is most affected. Takes about an hour to fill tub and having a shower is out of the question.

KIM...
Do you have a pressure reducing valve.. see picture? If present it should be between the water meter and the house.
If you do, it could be that the strainer is clogged and needs to be cleaned or worst case... replaced.
Let me know.. OK?
