I am a Syrian national. I was a J1 visa holedr in 2007. Worked in Michigan with $37K income, paid federal taxes. I left USA in June 21, 2007. I then worked in Saudi Arabia and eaned $30k. I then filed a 1040 and included my Saidi income and reported it as an exclusion through 2555EZ.
Did I erred in reporting my Saudi income? Was I supposed to use 2555 form and 1040.
Should I have used 1040NR instead... and without my Saudi income. My stimulus refund was not also paid due to the question of my excluding my Saudi income through 2555EZ?
Do I need to amend my 1040 with 1040NR and is my Saudi income excluded from the US income?

You should have filed a dual-status return and not even reported the Saudi income.

You can fix this error by filing Form 1040X and attaching the properly-prepared dual-status return.
