I recently received a summons for continuing for garnishment on a judgement that I received in 2000.The sol in my state is 6 years and the balance they are requesting is wrong. My job has already started to withhold my wages. What are my options?

The SOL has nothing to do with the time frame within which the Judgment can be enforced. The SOL only covers when a lawsuit can be started. The lawsuit must be started within X number of years of the debt and it varies by State.

Judgments, also depending on the State, are valid for 10 years (usually) and automatically renewable for another 10.

So they are within their rights.

You need to be clear on what you received. It sounds like you got NOTICE that a garnishment of your wages was being instituted stemming form a judgement against you.

If that's the case, then the SOL doesn't apply since they already received a judgement. If the judgement was received in 2000, interest and fees could have acculmulated changing the amount due. But you can ask for an accounting.
