What is the brand,and age of the weed eater?

Spark plug is OK

I grounded the plug and pulled the cord. No spark. Ignition coil assembly looks bad. Flywheel looks OK.

Have you tried using some sand paper to clean the area between the coil and the magneto on the flywheel. Is there a lot of rust there? Have you looked at the off on or kill switch,are the wires or wire going there connected? Have you tried another spark plug?just some thoughts.
