Even though we really care for each other I and a guy have been trying to break it off for the past few months for several various reasons. A few days ago he said to me, quote_ Every time I say goodbye it turns into hello again. Exactly what did he mean by that, and or was he trying to say anything in particular? Thanks very much for advice

If it is a mutual decision to break up, than I don't see any reason why you guys cant. Unless you guys still have feelings for each other or one of you guys do. Try talking to him about it more and see if you guys want to stay together or end it for good. If you want to end it and yet it can't than maybe there is something standing in the way?

Just my opinion without much background info: perhaps you both are afraid to be alone.

The best way to find out what he meant by the comment is to ask him.

I'd take it to mean that he's confused on what he wants.

Maybe just maybe it is really hard to say goodbye and that all he wants to do is say hello because he just wants to be with you.

Maybe instead of asking a bunch of strangers what somebody said to you what it might have really meant. The only way your going to find out is to ask him yourself.

My suspicion here is your looking into things more then you should. Your worrying over things that mean something good and nice but you take it in a bad way but that is just my impression and my opinion which counts for nothing because you have not asked your guy what he meant yet.

I confuse because if the two of you care for one another than why are your trying to break-up and been trying for weeks?

All someone has to say is " I don't want to be with you". I couldn't be with someone if I knew they wanted to break-up with me.

I would have been said bye and dealt with my emotions later.

Muffin, you seem to have a lot of questions regarding this guy so this so called relationship is full of misunderstaning because nobody knows how to talk to one another.

If the two of aren't smart enough to figure out how to break it off then the two of you shouldn't be in a relationship with nobody.

The two of you are sticking it out to see who has the guts to actually stand up and see something. And instead of saying things directly, confusing quotes are being throw around.

Maybe he said what he said for you to take a hint and say " I done" but no. Instead you not only stay but you actually try to look into what he means.

Your situation is sad especially since the both of you are trying to break-up with each other.

This is a classic case of "fools in love". Well maybe we can scratch the love part because this isn't love.

Neither of you wants to let go, but you both enjoy the games you play. That's what he means.

That's it. You guys are just dragging the relationship out. Wouldn't it be better to find someone who will make you happy?

It means, we break up only to go back to each other because its comfortable and easier to face the familiar than the unknown
