We have a 10 year old Kenmore dryer- a 90 series. It stopped working altogether and we replaced the motor and belt, cleaned out loads of hidden lint, etc.

Now it will work for intermittent periods. The first two loads after replacement only stayed on for 10 minutes and would not immediately start up again when button was pushed (had a wait period of 15 or 20 minutes then tried again- worked for 10 minutes then stopped again.

The next morning it wouldn't start at all. Then it dried a load all the way through. Then it would steop after 10 minutes. Then after 20 minutes it would stop for a couple of loads.

Second day it dried two loads all the way through. What could be going on?

Aljogruber - i believe that you have a bad heat protector that is going bad ; you will have to have a volt ohm meter to test it to find out ;; also you need to check out the {blower$ motor and fan , for proper operation and cleaness, of the .moto
And fan and the air outlet duct:: oh you can get the volt ohm meter at lowe's or the home depot:: in the electrical dept <for about $10.00 to 12.00 dollars ; make sure you get one that is capatal of handling 250 volts a/c power : havwe a great day and god bless::f.b.e.
