I have an Idea for producing a Water Distiller,
Using only the Sun.
I want to make a prototype of it, then patent it.
But I don't have the money.

Can anyone tell me if there are Private Grants for
This kind of idea / invention?

Thank you,

Clough

Hi, MyOhMan!

You've started a thread here, and all information needs to stay on the threads so that others with similar questions might be able to benefit by the answers that are given.

Your personal email address will be removed shortly. I would hate to see you get spammed because it's visible publicly.

Do you have a business plan for the marketing of your invention?

Thanks!

Okay, I can see that you're now logged-off from the site, MyOhMan. Any entity that might give you a grant or lend you money, is going to need to know that what you have invented is going to work and that it will be marketable. So, having a well-written business plan is essential to selling your idea to people from whom you might be able to obtain money in whatever form.

Thanks!

Make sure you have them each sign a non disclosure agreement.

You could try venture capital.

If you are part of a university, you could pretty easily get a grant if you can show that your idea works, although the university will probably want a cut of any profits. If not, getting a grant for an individual will be significantly harder, though not necessarily impossible.

You could start here:
Grants.gov (http://www.grants.gov/)

Good luck!

I can assist with prototype and patent.
