Hi,

Last year I filed a 1040EZ as I only claimed my wages. However, I need to amend my return this year to include my 1098T. However, form 8863 has a line "Enter the amount from Form 1040, line 38,* or Form 1040A, line 22". It does not mention the 1040EZ. Does this mean I am not eligible to claim the LL credit? Additionally, there are no 2007 form 8863's on the IRS website (or at least I can't find it). Would I just file the 2008 form?

Also what attachments should I include? I was thinking 1040X, 8863, and then a copy of my 1098T?

Thanks so much!

Nonresidents do not get tuition and fee deduction or education credit.

I am not a non-resident. I filed a 1040ez last year. I just want to know how to fill out 8863 since it only mentions 1040 and 1040A in the instructions, not 1040EZ. However, this is an amended tax return and had I claimed my 1098 t I would have used a different form.

To amend your return, you would file Form 1040X, on which you can claim the Lifetime Learning Credit on the "Credits" line of the Form 1040X.
