I was blonde last week and went in for low lights. I told my hairdresser NOT to put any ash in my hair. Well she did without saying anything to me. I called back in a few days to tell her I thought it looked green/gray and she told me she put ash in it. I went back in for color correction and I left with a level 5 ash brown with silver/gray highlights. I went back the next day and she put a gold toner over the highlights which helped. However I still have an overall ashy tone to my hair and it's much darker than I wanted all over. At this point I just want the ash out and I am afraid to have another process in my hair. It was done 3 times in one week. Can anyone tell me how to get the ash out so I can live with this dark hair for a few weeks until I feel comfortable enough to have it colored again?

Ash base colors can make your hair look green or gray if your not careful. A gold toner usually counter-acts the green hue. I'm sorry to hear that it didn't work on you. You have 2 options, you can let your hair grow out or ask your hairstylist to use a color remover on your hair. Once the unwanted pigment is removed, you can re-color your hair to the desired color.
