I have a feezer that will not work. About three years ago I moved and I did not have a place for it. I unplugged it and stored it. Well about a week ago I tried to start it up but it will not freeze. It has been working for years before I stored it. It sounds like it is running. Any ideas??

Im certainly no expert on freezers, but it sounds like the freon (or whatever is in them nowadays... CFC?) is gone and will need to be recharged.

There are a few things that can cause this. You very likely could have a bad valve or gasket depending on what type of compressor you have. If left to sit for too long in storage the gasket material can start to dry out and get brittle. This can lead to cracks and other failures in the gasket. The condensing coil could be dirty or even the charge could be low. I would be shocked if the refrigerant charge was low though, most residential units do not have any types of service valves which are a common weak spot on refrigeration systems.
