Bought a '90 civic dx, put in an alternator and fresh battery to get it running. During the last successful start, the key would not turn freely in the ignition, almost like it was frozen. Now when I turn the key I get no power anywhere, including dash/head lights, wipers, radio, etc. But I opened the passenger door during my inspection of the fuses, none of which appeared faulty, and the automatic seat belt activated. Please help me identify the problem, and help me figure out if it is worth the money to fix it.

. Does the Check Engine Light come on for 2 seconds and then go out, when the ignition switch is turned to ON? During this 2 second interval, do you hear the main relay click and the fuel pump run?
. Check for spark.
