I am a Mexican working in USA under L1 visa for a company that have business all over the world. This is my third assignment in USA within the same company.
1997 H1 9 months
2000 L1 20 months
2006 L1 3 years + 6 months
The company has asked me to stay another 6 months so we are in process to extend the L1 visa until December 2009. It will be a total of 6 years in 3 different times.
Company will not sponsor the Green card or residence but would hire me if I obtain the green card on my own.

1.- What are the options for an individual (Mexican) to apply for a green card with the Managerial experience and all time spent in USA?
2.- I do not want to go back to Mexico at all, what options do I have to stay in USA? Go back to school and continue working ? Start my own business ? Immigrate to Canada?
3.- Is there a limit (# years) to work under L1 Visa ?

Background:
Mexican 36 yr old
Mechanical Engineering degree
Engineering Manager.- Supervise 40 engineers.
12 years with the company
One daughter was born in USA in 2001
L1 Visa expires in Jun09 but Company is in process to extend it to Dec09

If your employer will not sponsor green card for you then you must seek different avenues either DV Lotto, or family based visa if you have family member here.

Having a US born daughter would not help much, she can petition you when she is qualified... 21 years of age, with income 125% of poverty guidelines, etc.
