I don't know, but you'll probably get some recognition in a "Dumb Criminals" publication at the very least.
Seriously, though, you should go talk to the police. If they have to come and find you, it could be worse. The more you cooperate the better. You really just need to talk to them and then you'll know what you're facing. Maybe they just want to question you and get information... like where did the checks come from... if you forged the checks yourself, you're probably going to be in big trouble. If they came from some other source, if you cooperate with the police in bringing down the original frauds you stand a chance of coming out of this with no or little trouble. Just my opinion. There's not much to say at this point, as you haven't been charged (knowingly, anyway) with a crime yet and you also didn't say much about the checks themselves (did YOU forge them, did you get them in the mail, etc... )

Let me see, you left the bank? Without the money, but you ran out without the check and even left your ID
Well first you find a new professional, obviously being a criminal is not for you.
And you hire an attorney to go see the police, or merely don't go and wait to see what happens.
Most likely you will be charged with a couple counts of fraud.

Leaving the bank without the check or your ID makes you look bad, maybe this is a dumb question but did you know it was a fake check at the time?
I don't know why they would mail you a letter and not just come to your place but you may be charged with some kind of fraud.

I would say get a lawyer or go into hiding. Unless you want the worse possible punishment do not go talk to the police without a lawyer. And don't ever do it again!

First you can stop using text speak on the legal boards - there's no reason for it and it's against the rules.
Second - need more info about the "fake" check. Stolen? Forged? Amount changed? It's also going to depend on your past record.
