You will file nonresident tax return (just like J1) but you must pay FICA taxes.

Thanks.
My situation is:
I am a citizen of Peoples Republic of China with J2 visa. I was told by someone I don't need to pay FICA taxes for 2 years.
Is that correct?
Many Thanks.

You should call IRS and find out. My understanding is that you must pay FICA taxes if you work on J2.

Mukata is correct; FICA taxes are due.
