My spouse and I are jointly filing our taxes and he is considered a resident ( sixth year here ) and has a 1042-S. Turbo Tax, looks like, doesn't provide a provision to enter 1042-S.

Can anyone recommend a software for this. Also, I was on OPT for part of last year. So if the software can also take that into account, it would be great.

Thanks

Thanks Mukata for helping me on this. Its basically fellowship provided by university. The Code in box 1 is 15.

Till now we were using cintax software provided by university. But since my husband now is considered a resident, we cannot use that software anymore. I also googled online and found that turbo tax doesn't allow one to enter 1042-S data.

Use Turbo Tax and put the income from the 1042 in the software as though it was from a W-2. Also include any taxes withheld and attach the 1042-S to the tax return. Your employer really should have provided you a W-2 because you were a resident. Form 1042 is only for nonresidents.
