I went out of state to try to get some family support.. im a mom of 3 whose husband deployed.. I had 3 cats a dog and a lizzard.. I have left my animlas alone plenty of times before.. we plenty food and water.. cats are inside only.. I had automatice feeders and wterbolw s for my cats.. itwo day after I left animal control was at my house.. I have never had any issues with them.. I told them my situation and they said OK.. my animlas were fine.. the it went down hill.. they would go to my hous everyday.. they said they were getting calls.. I could not come home right whne they wanted too. I was 18 hours away.. I got a call few days later.. told me if ididnt get home I was going to have my animals pulled from my house and I was going to be arrested.. after I begged and pleaded animla control said they wouldn't take them.. I got home 6 hours later.. open my door my cat who I got after my first child died was gone.. my 5 year olds kitten.. they left my other cat.. my dog and my sons lizzard.. there was no warrant on my door nothing at all... I don't understand if my animlals were in that bad of dannger why they didn't take all of them... im not a cruel person my animals were my life.. my daughter cries here self to sleep at night because her cat is gone... and I cry every night because its like I lost a kid... I have a court date in April.. this happened in oct... please help me...

Hello scared:

It doesn't matter how right you are if you can't get a word in edgewise during your hearing...

Therefore, you NEED a lawyer to represent you.

Apparently whoever called the authorities on you for the animal abuse didn't like the way you were neglecting your pets. You should have engaged a friend or neighbor to come in your home and personally attend to your animals. What you did on a regular basis is not acceptable responsible pet owner behavior. The animal control officers took whatever measures they felt was needed at the time of their visit.
