I helped an Indian living in US get rid of bed bugs successfully. I forget what chemical we used, but that is only part of the battle.
I larger part is identifying where they are and the extent of investaion.
You may have to remove clothing and sheets. Bag them and put them in the wash.
You have to vacuum EVERYTHING for about a week.
The bed and any furniture must be SEALED in plastic for about a week. No food and they die.
So:
1. determine extent of infiltration
2. vacuum and quarantine every day for at least a week.
3. Chemicals can help.

Chemicals alone will not get rid of them. They breed faster than roaches and can survive for extended periods on human skin cells, dandruff, or even sweat. Alteration of their habitat must be done to get rid of them.
Chemicals that can help include Pyrethrum, Deltamethrin, and Bifenthrin. These chemicals can pose a more immediate danger to people than the bugs, so the quarantine is absolutely essential.

I happened on an article today that says heat can kill them, as well. The entire area needs to be kept a 40 degrees Centigrade (113 Farenheit) for only an hour to kill them off, eggs, larvae, and all. In Mombai that might be easier than chemicals.
