View Full Version : My sincerest apologies to anyone involved

Hello everyone, I needed to send a blanket apology to any of you that were involved in this past weeks incidents. I figured this was the best way to do so. It appears that there were numerous people involved so I wanted to make sure to reach everyone. I learned a very valuable lesson this past week.

To start at the beginning, my fiancée and I left for vacation last Sunday. We were to be gone for a week and needed someone to stay here to look after our beautiful dogs Bella and Lewi. I don't like sending them to a kennel for many reasons but that is for another post. Anyway, I had set up over a month ago for a very dear friend of mine named Diane to come and stay at the house and take care of the dogs, get the mail etc. She is single and jumped at the chance for a change of scenery and the chance to use my tanning bed at her leasure. I had explained to her that she can use anything that she liked and to make herself at home. Boy did she ever. There were numerous things that she did that my fiancée and I did not approve of but the one that I am most upset about is the use of my computer.

To start with she downloaded several games onto my computer, which caused problems and has significantly slowed my computer down. Then yesterday after we got home, settled in and began talking to her about the past weeks events things were fine. She was getting ready to leave and said "oh by the way, I think I roughled a few feathers on your little help desk website that you have on your computer....." I didn't fully understand what she meant so I began asking questions. For starters I have a link on my desk top to AMHD so I can access it quicker and don't have to sign in every time. Well not only did she take it upon herself to submit a question to a forum regarding me and my fiancee's personal business about IVF (which I had discussed with her on several occasions as a friend) but it appears as though she has ticked off quite a few people, and was signed in as me while doing so.

I didn't get a chance to sign on and take a look until later in the day and was even more furious once I started to read some of the things that had gone on. I don't know who she thinks she is and I am so upset with her right now, I don't even know where my friendship stands with her. I know she thinks she was trying to help by posting a question about IVF but if I wanted to ask questions to the public I would have done that myself. Secondly, I have been a member of this forum for several years and take pride in following the rules and not offending or upsetting anyone. Especially to argue with and expert!!

As I stated I am still not sure who was all effected by this and to those of you that read this, I deeply apologize for my friends' actions and hope all of you can forgive me for what has happened. I am still reading some of the threads to see what exactly went on, but if anyone can bring to my attention any that I may have missed I would appreciate it.

Again, I am so deeply sorry for those of you involved! Believe me, it will never happen again!!

Ya know, its funny, but I was actually wondering about that. It really didn't seem like the same person who has been a member for 2 years.

So I tend to believe your explanation and we'll chalk it up to experience. If you leave your computer whwere someone else can get to it, make sure you log off all sites that have auto logons.

If this is true, can't the administrators/moderators just pull the last week's posts?

Apparently nobody in that Town uses apostrophes and they all have the same writing style, if not the same content. But - it's up to the moderators to decide what does and what does not make sense - and if it makes sense to Scott, so be it. My tingling spidey senses have been off before.

And if it's true, sue "her" for assuming your identity and destroying your reputation and credibility on this Board. Or provide "her" name and someone here who put up with "her" all week will do it for you.

Someone threatened to sue yesterday - sooner or later it's going to happen.

EDIT: I have thought about this and am coming back to edit. First, I'm sorry but I don't believe you. Of course, in the grand scheme of things what I think or don't think doesn't matter anyway.

I've been an investigator for a number of years and I always have to look for intent - intent on the part of both parties. NOBODY says, "Oh, I ruffled a few feathers on that little site of yours." People wander off and say nothing. And she posted the details of YOUR personal life? No way.

Again - if your story is true, take legal action against her. Otherwise your explanation is just too pat for me. I do hope I'm wrong and you are sincere. I just don't believe it happened the way you say it did.

Scott, I thank you very much for knowing in your gut that I would not do that. That means a lot to me. I have a ton of respect for you and I think you know that.

This8384, I was wondering about that myself. It truly sickens me that this nonsense is all over these posts in my name! But if not I completely understand, it was my fault for leaving my computer completely available for her.

Judy, I completely understand your skeptisism (sp?) believe me. I was a little besides myself when I sat down to write this post. Its goes beyond just being upset with someone, I trusted my entire house to her and as I mentioned in the post, there were many other things that she did. I personally am wondering what is going on with HER. I have known her since high school. So I am a bit floored myself.
I respect your thoughts and opinions and I appreciate you taking the time to give me your two cents worth. All I can say again, is that I am sorry, truly sorry that I allowed for this to happen.

As far as taking legal action against her, well at this particular moment in time, I have bigger fish to fry. Numerous problems with my son, us trying to have a baby, me losing my job in February... the list goes on. That was why we decided to go ahead with the vacation that was already planned and paid for. It was nice to get away from the issues that are going on and then to come back to this?? I am trying not to unwind what vacation put in place.

So although I am extremely upset with her and not sure where we stand as friends, I think I am better suited to chalk this up as a lesson learned.
Thank you again to all of you and I hope that over time I can gain back your confidence and put this incident in the past. :-)

It leaves me wondering then who sent me the PM about the IVF.

One other thing I take issue with: you haven't posted here since November but say you had a link to AMHD on your desktop for "easier access"? So you don't come to this site for 5 months, your friend uses it in your absence and when she brings it up, you immediately know what she's talking about? My apologies but I find it hard to believe.

That's why I would like any and all posts by you/your friend from this year to be pulled, as well as any ratings given and received, if that's a possibility.

I agree - bizarre and very difficult to believe from beginning to end. Of course, this goes back - sort of - to my other discussion. Why when a person posts in two names does one name get suspended but the person continues to post in the first name? One person, two names. Makes no sense to me.

And what about the people who read through the "counterfeit" posts and never came back because they were surprised by the arguing?

Plus - my friends who know that much info about me can be trusted.

I have no idea -

Where's CurlyBen? He received a complaint from the "friend" during the OP's absence; I'd like to know what the complaint said... that is, if he still has it.

I forgot about this - right, the friend not only posted in the original person's name, the friend knew her way around well enough and knew CurlyBen by name or reputation - I think. Or am I confusing this person without someone else on another thread?

Sorry all, I had some running to do and just wanted to jump back on quick. I hear everyone's complaints and I think all of you are completely 100% justified. I am still trying to understand why someone who I have known for so long could be so careless. I had another conversation with her this morning and am even more upset with her than I was to begin with. She doesn't understand why I am so worked up over a website full of people I don't even know? I tried to explain to her rationally that first of all it does not matter if she understands it or not and secondly I feel like I do know some of you. It's becoming useless to even try to talk to her about it and unfortunately I am going to have to just accept what happened and move on. I can't even imagine losing a friend over something like this but I don't know how to feel or what to do.
I fully understand everyone's views, I would be saying the same thing. I can't force any of you to believe what happened. Being the person that I am though I felt compelled to give you all an explanation and I think that is all I can do at this time. Some of you will accept that and some of you won't. There isn't anything that I can do about that. You are all entitled to your own opinions. I know what truly happened and I guess deep down that is all that matters, but I still felt an explanation was in order. Again thank you all for listening. :-)

I'm going to close this thread. My original feeling about this was based on the fact that knaicky has been here a pretty long time and never caused a problem before. I felt the recent notes to be out of character with the 400 notes preceding it.
Therefore I'm willing to give her the benefit of the doubt at this point.

While I understand the points against it, I really don't think such speculation does anyone any good. I am sure kanicky realizes that she will be on thin ice for awhile.

So lets take her apology at face value, until proven otherwise.

To kanicky, if you want any of the alleged friend's posts deleted, please PM me a list of links and I'll look into it.
