Depends on the state you are in. In some states debts occurred during a marriage are considered marital debts.
If it does affect your credit, it may remain there for 7 years.

According to this article:
WisBar | Wisconsin Lawyer November 2007: After the Spllit: The Marital Property Act's Effects on Debt After Marriage (http://www.wisbar.org/AM/Template.cfm?Section=Wisconsin_Lawyer&template=/CM/ContentDisplay.cfm&contentid=68230)
It is possible for for you to be considered responsible for those debts. Especially if you remain married. I would suggest consullting an attorney.
