I have a 3 year old HP Pavilion with Windows xp. Last week the network card apparently disappeared. Tried many different things, uninstall/reinstall (won't let me) system restore,
Bought new card, nothing works. I had to "unhide" network in the devise manager. Also the new card I put in is not recognized either.

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Is it a integrated nic or a pci card if it is a integrated then it could have been accidentally disabled in the bios
