I'm starting interior remodeling we currently have a laundry room before the garage entrance, we are thinking of using that space to expand one of the adjacent smaller room which would gain 2.5 feet. Will removing this laundry area devalue the home? Would expanding the room help with value?

Depends where the new laundry room goes. No mention of that here and the new area for water and sewer hook up. This would be the first concern here.

Laundry would be moved to the garage which has plenty of extra space. Yes water pipes would have to be routed.
