I just received a HD DVR, and can't figure out what wiring to use!

The PVR is a DCT6400 Phase III High - Definition Cable terminal that is connected to Shaw HD cable feed.

The DVR is a Pioneer DVR - 460H - K HDD/DVD Recorder.

The TV is Panasonic DHD Plasma TH-42PX60U

The PVR brings in the HD signals on over 300 channels. The PVR has a 160 GB hard drive for temporary storage of programs.

The DVR is capable of recording to a variety of DVD disks. The DVR also has a 160GB hard drive capable of storing programs.

Presently the PVR operates with the plasma TV beautifully.

How do I connect the DVR into this system? What type of wires are used to hook-up between the 3 units?

From the Cable box to the TV I'd recommend hdmi. From the cable box to the pioneer dvr svideo will be the best you can do as there is content protection on that particular cable box which will prevent you from recording anything in HD. Why are you looking to record to the Pioneer DVR?

bl117 When we go to the lake up north, We will take dvd disks to play on an older TV and DVD player. We only receive 2 channels at the lake! There are many low rez shows that we would like to watch in town, but don't have the time.

Your suggested routing makes a lot of sense.
