My partners work mate loves cats but he is allergic to them, I know you can get the hairless cats but he doesn't like the look of them.
Are there any other breeds that he could get?

A friend of mine is allergic to cats, but they got a Blue Russian. Apparently they are of a special breed that people with an allergy to cats can tolerate.
He's had the cat for half a year now, and his allergies are not bothering him. I am also allergic to cats, and the cat isn't bothering me either.
So a Blue Russian would be the way to go. Other than those and hairless cats, I do not think there are any more options...
some info and pictures can be found here (http://www.catfacts.org/russian-blue-cat-facts.htm)

Your friend could get shots so he can tolerate the cat. A lot of people who have dogs get them so you can probably get it if you have a cat. The blue russian cat has short fur so that would also be a good idea. They are so cute too. Maybe the cat just needs to have short fur.
