Hi! Bonnie speaking. It's been awhile since I post a question. Anyway, beside that, I got a question relating on rebooting laptop. I'm currently using a Toshiba Laptop, and I was planning on rebooting the system. When I say rebooting I mean, restart the computer and let Toshiba install everything to start up, then installing other programs on it again. (Am I using the right term?) My laptop came with Windows Vista Home Premium when I purchased it, which automatically loaded on the laptop when I first turned on. Here's the thing, if I reboot my laptop again, is the windows vista home premium will still be on the laptop when it turns back on again? Or do I need to buy that Microsoft program?

I greatly appreciate for you guys to read my question. If you guys can give me some answers it'll be great. I'm not really great with computers, so tips will be good too. Thank you!!

FYI you mean REBUILDING or REINSTALLING.
Rebooting is simply turning the system off and on again..

Now as for a rebuild, first make sure all the data you want to keep is backed up, i.e. saved OFF the machine.

Now machines come with some form of recovery media, either as a separate CD/DVD or a hidden part of your drive for recovery.
This will return you system to "out of the box" settings.

Oh! Thank you Curlyben, I was pretty sure that I used the wrong term. Yep! I saved all my important files in my portable hard drive for back up. All I need to do is look for that recovery CD that I misplaces somewhere in my room.

Actually I think the term you are looking for is Recovery or restoring. What you want to do is Restore the laptop to the state when it came out of the factory. To do this you need to boot to your Recovery CD. This will wipe out whatever is on the system and restore it to the condition it came from the factory. You can then install any programs you added afterwards and restore your data files.
