My son's father moved to NY and has not seen my son for over three months. He does not help me support our child in no kind of way. I do not have an address for him but I have one for his sister. They only way my son speaks to him is if I call. Is is possible to file child abandament on his Dad? I currently live in GA.

No, I don't think so, I believe that he has to be gone longer than that and have no contact at all. My daughter's father has been absent in my daughter's life for four years now and I have never received a dime from him and I have been told that I can't file for abandonment.

Abandonment? What is it that you hope to accomplish? Do you want child support? Yes, you can file for that. Abandonment has nothing to do with it.

The law says 4 consecutive months. I am in the middle of an adoption trial right now. No visitation, no child support or reasonable child support for four consecutive months puts the parent in a state of abandonment.

Possibly, depending on your state, but you also seem to have a specific goal in mind, where the poster just wanted to 'file child abandonment' which is not something that gets filed.
