I have a 1 year old lab and he licks everything.The refrigerator,my shoes,my older labs face,anything near him.. he licks! Why?

I can see why he licks the other dog's face, it is a sign of affection for one thing. He licks your shoes because maybe there is something interesting on them. He licks the refrigerator because maybe there is something interesting on it. Dogs lick. Its what they do.

My gut feeling would that it could be a sign of stress. Is your dog left alone part of the day ?

Because a dog is a dog and probably thirsty. That's what dogs do, they lick.
