My sister is 15 and her boyfriend is 19. My parents love him. And my sister just found out she's pregnant! I know my mom or dad wouldn't turn him in. but can somebody else turn him in if the parents DONT complain? how would someone know though? We live in Illinois. What could happen. I need all details. And she won't get an abortion! So what will happen?

She is pregnant and it most likely will be reported. Why are her parents allowing her any where near a 19 year old ? In almost all states I can think of that's statatory rape at a minimum.
By her parents not reporting it they could be charged with aiding and abbedding and could also go to jail or prison. They need to come clean with this situation.

Im not sure how it is in IL but a date of birth of the parents was required for the birth certificate in MA. So the hospital might notice it. When he disappears and child support is ordered, someone may notice. A passing comment, pregnancy hormones, a bad day... anything might lead to someone finding out.

This same situation happened to my daughter's father. After I left him, he got with a 15 year old and she ended up getting pregnant. He was 19 years old. Unfortunantly he did not go to jail because of this, but he lived in California and it may not have been reported. He probably just got lucky because in Alabama the age for consent is 16 years old. So, I am not sure about in IL. I hope things work out for your sister.

The doctor may be required by law to report it. The hospital may also have such a requirement.
They should have thought of this before engaging in illegal sex.

The school may also be required to report it. They will have to be informed as well.

You do not know what state she is in and certain states they do have an age of consent such as Oklahoma it is 16 yrs old so a 16 yr old can sleep with a 25 year old but as long as she consented to it nobody can be arrested for anything

But the sister is 15!! In only a few states is the age of consent that low. Which is basically what califdad said.

Is there anyway he COULD get away with it?

Sure, but you won't find anyone that will help him break the law here.

If no one reports it or if the local prosecutor declines to prosecute. But if they do decide to prosecute, he's looking at jail time.

A lawyer working for the prosecution in your area.

The prosecution are the District Attorney, they decide what cases to take to court, make the plea deals and so on.
In the end, anyone can report it, and then the DA will investigate and decide if they will issue a warrant and arrest him for it.
I will be frank, there are people serving 5 years or more for this exact thing and they will be a registered sex offender for the rest of their life.
But at this point there is nothing they can do but hope and wait.
Somehow I have a hard issue with the parents of a 15 year old child being OK with a 19 year old adult having sex with their daughter.

Do you think she and him can get away with it? If she keeps it a secret? I'm so scared for her, she can't raise this baby on her own.

She can't keep it a secret. She has to go to a doctor, she should go to a hospital or birth facility for the birth, she willl need to tell the school.
She can say she doesn't know who the father is, but if this young man hangs around there will be questions. If she tries to get public assistance, they will require that she name all possible fathers who will be called in for paternity testing.

She's so scared and as a sister, there's only so much I can do... do you think she could lie about the father? And say it was a one night stand?and she don't know him?

Is she thinking of staying with the father, does she expect child support for this baby? If so, then lying isn't an option.
She's between a rock and a hard place, sadly there's not much any of us or you can do. They made their beds, now they have to lay in them.
This is what happens when you don't care about the rules, sooner or later they catch up with you.

No, that could get her in trouble. They both should have carefully considered the consequences of their actions before they engaged in sexual intercourse. Now they both have to live with those consequence.

Illinois statute 720 ILCS 5 sec.12-26
(d) The accused commits aggravated criminal sexual abuse if he or she commits an act of sexual penetration or sexual conduct with a victim who was at least 13 years of age but under 17 years of age and the accused was at least 5 years older than the victim.
In Illinois, this is a class 2 felony - meaning that you potentially face prison time and lifetime sex offender registration.
You state that your sister's boyfriend is 19 and your parents "love him". That statement shocked me more than your sister being 15 and pregnant, by far.
Part of the problem with kids doing adult things is that they then have to face adult consequences. Your sister is not responsible for this mess. The boyfriend and the parents are. Maybe it's time for him to just be an adult and face the consequences. After all, he is about to be a parent and will have the responsibility of raising a human being. In the meantime, no matter what happens, your sister needs to tell that she is pregnant so she can begin prenatal care in order to give this baby a good start in life and to protect her own health.
