View Full Version : Do I need a new antenna

I have just purchased a new digital TV. I do not have cable.. Do I need to replace the antenna that I have on a tower outside of my home with a different kind?? Thank for any info...

I saw on the news that you might need a new antena. I would suggest trying the old one when the switch to digital begins. Just in case it still works you shouldn't waste money a new one. I'm going to see if my antena still works when the switch begins also.

You would need a UHF/VHF antenna to get more available stations. I would use a preamp on antenna with the Power supply that goes with it for a good signal, then out to splitter, of feed into Multiswitch or Diplexer. Height is important, Rotor may be necessary in your location for maximum signal and to help eleminate ghosting. And may need an FM Trap if nearby FM stations give problems, if not, use FM for your stereo.
