I have a Craftsman Model 917.252590 with a Kohler Model CV15S, Type PS41508. Unfortunately, my son's golden retriever decided the wiring harness looked tasty. There is a connector on the left side of the mower with 4 connections. Can you tell me what the pairings should be for the eight wires on either side of the connector? I do know that one side contains white, black, red, and yellow wires. The other side contains black, red, blue, and orange wires. What I don't know is which one goes where. Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

I was going to recommend replacing it until I went to Sears and found it this continued. Usually just matching wire colors will do it(they do not change in mid wire.) The black and red wires are critical. I would say the others are ignition ground and light circuit. Try seeing which color connects to the lights (my guess is blue) and pick the yellow on the engine as its mate. White is a common ignition ground color.
