Hi,
I became resident alien (on F1, OPT) for tax purpose last year, after 5 years as F1 student. My employer still treated with me as nonresident. So I got a wrong 1042s (no applied to me) and they did not withhold medicare and social security last year.

My questions:
1. How to report the 1042s without claiming any benefit?
2. How to pay the medicare and social security for last year.

I will be very happy if some tax professionals like to take my case, and I am living in Boston, MA now.

I really appreciate any suggestions and comments!

Thanks!

Give more details about 1042S-- what is in which box (even codes).
Any work related income must be added to your W2 income.

Hi, MukatA
Good question. The income code on 1042s is 18, for teaching as treaty exemption. But I am very sure that this do not apply to me since I am resident for tax in 2008. On my w2, all the number is taxable.
How o report this wrong 1042s?
