OK... I am trying to eat Jenny meals and they are actually tasty.. but Lordy BE I'm left starving, I mean it is like a little tease, it is cruel. I have my 30th high school reunion coming up and I would LOVE to lose a few L B's. I need to feel fuller. Anyone have any suggestions to help me feel full? I can't drink a bunch of water before I meal.. I will upchuck.. . Other than that.. I am open to suggestions. :)

Have you tried eating a handful of nuts as a snack either before or after your meals? My personal trainer says that almonds are the best for you and tend to fill you up...

Other than water, I'm not sure...

Hello Tessy:

Try the Zone Diet. They deliver daily here (not that I need to lose weight).

Thanks for the suggestions. Historianchick, I'm not nuts about almonds unless of course they are covered in chocolate. Hee hee ( you see my problem?)

Ex,

I could try the zone but my freezer is full of Jenny right now. I guess the answer if for me to suck it up and deal with my tummy growlin a little. I'm such a whinner... I don't need to lose any weight either.. (if you like short, chubby girls... )

I don't know what's in the Jenny Craig meals, but small amounts of fat and protein and large amounts of fiber will make you feel full longer.

So for example, when I'm dieting I don't use skim milk on my cereal because I'm starving an hour later, whereas if I have whole milk or a piece of buttered toast, I last a lot longer. The trick is not to have 2 or 3 pieces of buttered toast and not each very much of any one thing. A little hunger is inevitable, though. But try to be hungry when you are too busy to focus on it. If I'm so hungry at night I can't sleep, I usually fall off a diet just because when I'm tired, I'm weak!

Good luck!

I know back when I was on my "salad + chicken breast" diet... I ate protein shakes, yogurt, etc. to keep myself full throughout the day.

Ya know it takes your mind 20 minutes to tell your body it is full. If you eat slowly it will last longer and by 20 minutes you can be full and satisfied. It really works for me. Try taking a bite chewing for about 15 seconds then taking a drink of water then keep repeating until you are finished.

I will give your suggestions a try. I started jazzercise too and that REALLY makes me hungry. If I could drop like 5 pounds I think I would be encouraged enough to keep going.. but never seeing those scales move is discouraging. But thanks for the tips.

One way I filled myself up was, say I was having a turkey sandwich- I'd pile on the veggies. So I'd have lettuce, tomato, green peppers, onions or whatever veggies which made my sandwich bigger without adding a lot of extra fat and calories. Also, the extra flavors "trick" you into thinking you're having more than just a sandwich therefore making a mundane sandwich into something delectable!

Another thing I'd do was snack before a meal. So if I knew I was having dinner at 6, I'd eat a cup of yogurt at 5 to curb my appetite some. And I'd always eat a light snack before going out to dinner to avoid overeating.

But girl you look GOOD for someone saying they're coming up on a 30 year reunion! I think your classmates will only wish they looked as good!

Of course you will feel like you're starving! You didn't gain weight by eating a healthy caloric amount, so now your body has to get used to less food..
