Does anyone know what to do about this? It started late last fall, I noticed it when I started to mow my lawn and was literally ATTACKED! There I was mowing and looking like a spaz swatting at these things the whole time- there were at least 30 of them after me at all times. I also had hundreds in my garage, so I set off a fogger in there and ran...

I have been vaccuumming usually around 10-20 per week from around my sunnier windows all winter (in Iowa-very cold winters). I went outside today and there they were, all over my lawn again and attacking my house on the sunny side.

None of my neighbors seem to have this problem...

I thought maybe this could have something to do with the flooding we've had the last couple of years, but that doesn't seem right because there was widespread flooding about a month before we bought the house, and we had no problems for the first year. Also, neither of us buried anyone or anything in the yard. What's freaking me out is that every single inch of my yard is affected, it's about the size of a double lot, but there doesn't seem to be a problem in my neighbors' yards...

Please help!! :confused::eek:

If, let me repeat IF, these look like houseflies on steroids, they are likely "clusterflies," which like to lay eggs and overwinter in attics. If the attic now has a gajillion dead ones then a fogger up there should stop them this year and screening any vents and plugging any holes will keep them out in future.

I think Catsmine has it nailed: Cluster Flies,fly control,flies (http://www.doyourownpestcontrol.com/cluster.htm)

Delta Dust is weird stuff. It stays put.
