HEEEEEELP!!
A recently noticed water leaking from the bottom of the toilet bowl. A friend of mine replaced the wax ring for me, yet there was still a very small leak. Thinking maybe the ring somehow slipped, and being the son my dad didn't have, I rolled up my sleeves, sacrificed my fresh manicure, and replaced it again myself, being sure to double check that the nuts on the floors were tightened well. No luck, still leaky.
Today I flushed the toilet and the tank did not refill. I immediately thought  refill valve and went to the hardware store down the road and bought a new Fluidmaster. HOWEVER... the oddest thing happened when I shut the water supply valve off. I could still hear hissing, like the water was running, and I could see it trickling into the bowl, so I realized I still needed to completely drain the tank. Weeeeell... put a towel in the tank to get out the remainder of the water, but by the time I pulled the towel out and tossed it in the shower, water had come back into the tank, just to the top of the flapper. How could this be... I shut off the supply?!
I looked at it a little more to figure out where the heck the water was coming from. I finally noticed that at the bottom of the fill valve tube, there were bubbles coming out. HUH?!   This makes no logical sense to me. Bubbles makes me think there is air in the line, but how could air and water even be coming out of the darn tube... I turned the supply off!! Am I imagining that the water is coming from the bottom of the tube?
I also notice that my slow leak onto the floor has gone warp speed on me and seems to be filling my sponge mop a little faster now.
I am strapped for cash right now so I am hoping one of you fine folks will be able to give me a solution that I can handle on my own.
THANK YOU for your input!!
