I came to USA on H1b visa during Dec 2007 and my wife joined me here in March 2008 on H4 visa. Later she went back to India in Jan 2009 and decided never come back to USA.
Now she is not in USA and I need to file tax return for last year. So is there any way that I can still file income tax return as joined with one dependent ? Since due date for filing return is near by so can you response as early as possible? Thanks in Advance.

You can only file as married filing jointly or married filing separately.
You will need to attach W7 (ITIN application) for your wife. Copies of passport need to be notarized in U.S. or from U.S. embassy in India.
