I am trying to replace a light switch and outlet with a GFCI in my bathroom. The house was built in 1967 so the electrical work is a little shaky.

I pulled out the light switch and the old outlet and hooked up the GFCI... and both plugs function properly. The problem is that I can't get the light switch to work now. I took a picture... but here is what I have.

On the right side is 2 Blacks to the line/hot side of the GFCI. 1 white to the line/Nuetral side of the GFCI and a ground wire to the ground.

On the switch side there is a red wire and a black wire. The white is twisted in with the white on the other side. When I took it apart to start with there was a jumper hooked up as well.

I can't figure out how to wire this up so the light switch will work as well. I'm a rookie at electrical work, so please forgive me if this is a dumb question.

Thanks,
Adam

Do you remember how the light switch was connected. Back then they sometimes used the balck and white as the swithch leg. If you can take the light down and look if there is more than one set of wires coming into the box. They might have the nutural at the light and they are just swithcing the hot at the box. I hope this make sense.
