Right folks, I’m sure this will sound like complete gibberish but hopefully it will ring a bell with someone. I’m trying to find a horror film I remember from when I was young, would’ve been mid-to-late 80s, but that doesn’t mean it was released then.
The film sets were all very much like those in Conan The Barbarian, muscular men with long hair and dodgy loin clothes, fires lighting the rooms, etc etc.
I remember one scene quite clearly, they hold down a man, then pour a coloured liquid into his ear, it turns the man crazy (he doesn’t change appearance, just loses all human qualities like speech and becomes a savage crazed person). His eyes then change to the same colour as the liquid. I think the liquid was green, possibly fluorescent green. Once the liquid has completely changed the man, he (along with other men who have suffered the same fate) are used as slaves, put into harnesses and pull around carts (like in Chariots of Fire).
I know this scene wasn't the main plot point of the film, but unfortunately I don’t remember much else. I hope someone recognises the film I’m describing because I’d love to watch it now and see if the film that ruined my childhood is actually a horror. I couldn’t sleep with my head turned sideways for weeks; I was too worried someone would pour the liquid into my ears!
Any help would be much appreciated.
