I built a new house 2 years ago about 150 feet from a creek. A few times a year I will get storms that cause the water level in the creek to be high. When that happens I get thousands of gallons of water coming into my basement drainage system. When the creek is low and we get storms my sumps do not even get water in them. I have checked for field tile and have found none. The soil is heavy clay but bedrock is fairly high, with in a few feet of my foundation. Any help? Please contact me at [email protected]

Sounds like you mjay have built your basement below the high water mark. Have you water proofed the basement yet?
Would installing french drains,(see image) or perforated PVC pipe around the foundation to pipe the water away help any?
Cheers, Tom

You do have a sump pump but how many gallons per hour is it rated. Does the water come in via your curtain around the footings or through a door or window?
