Hi

I am on an L-1 visa in USA for the last 1.5 years.
My son is 9 year old and he is on L2.
Is he eligible to get an SSN?

Please advise.

Thanks,
Suren S

Generally speaking, he does not qualify nor does he need an SSN. If you are filing taxes and need the number to claim him as a dependent, file for a individual taxpayer identification number (TIN) from the IRS on form W-7. Taxpayer Identification Numbers (TIN) (http://www.irs.gov/businesses/small/international/article/0,,id=96696,00.html#itin)

I hope this is responsive to your inquiry. Good luck.
