Hi,
I am currently on H-1, but was in OPT(f-1) from Jan 2008-Sep 2008.
I have filed my taxes with a licensed tax filer here in CA. And he claimed my living expenses, boarding expenses, utilites and travelling expenses, while I was on F-1.
Can any one please suggest me if I have filed my taxes correctly?
If not can I now correct it? And how?

I came to US from India in 2005 on F-1 and recently converted to H-1 since Oct 2008. I am currently single.

Any suggestion is very much appreciated.

Looking for one..

Thank you
Swetha

Which form did you file?
Which living expenses, boarding expenses, utilities and travelling expenses did you claim?

Hi

Thanks for the response. I appreciate it...

I have filed 1040 NR form.
And I have claimed all my living expenses i.e my rental expenses, my travelling expenses, i.e. my daily bus fares , and my daily utilities starting from Jan 1st to Sep 30th.. i.e. until I was on F-1.

I am not sure if this is the information you are asking for? Please let me know if I need to give more inputs...

Thanks much for your help..
Swetha

No. These are personal expenses and should not have been deducted.
