I usually use Gentocin Spray to treat my Golden's hot spots.

There seem to be meny different treatments available online.

1) Can anyone recommend a good home treatent?

2) Does anyone know where I can order Gentocin Spray WITHOUT A PRESCRIPTION?

Thanks...

First, has your vet determined the cause of the hot spots? Has your Golden been given antibiotics? Where on the body are his hot spots, and how many? Is it an alergy or because of fleas, or another condition? If this is a chronic problem, and your vet hasn't identified the cause, I would have further testing by your vet, as hot spots can be very painful, and can easily turn into an infection that could be very serious.

There is a spray that you can get at Petco, called Veterinarians Best. It's about $10 bucks. It worked just fine for one of my dogs. It's all natural, so you don't have to worry about added alcohol or anything other additives. I believe it contains Aloe and Tea Tree Oil, and I think some Chamomille. I've also heard that some pet owners have had success with chamomille tea bags applied to the hot spot, and then bandaging the area where the hot spot occurs.
